All F-1 visa students, whether they work or not, are required to file for U.S. income taxes.

FREE tax filing service for De Anza students
by Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA)
Feb. 7-April 18, 2017
9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
T/W/Th in the Campus Center, Fireside Room. 
How it works:  Drop by the location and make an appointment.
Please be sure to identify yourself as an F-1 Visa International Student!

Special Note:Please do not use other software packages to help you file your taxes since they are not designed to understand complex non-resident tax issues, such as tax treaties, etc. Moreover, the IRS does not currently allow Forms 1040NR and 1040NR-EZ to be filed electronically.

 Please remember: ISP staff CANNOT advise you on HOW to fill your own taxes!
