• Jennifer: VIDA is cosponsoring an event next Tuesday in conference room B from 9:30 AM to 11:20 AM as well as over Zoom. 
• Reeya: Business Networking Mixer - for anyone interested in the business field. Meeting next Wednesday. 
• Christopher B: VIDA having open house from 3-5 on Monday in collaboration with HEFAS. 

Advisor Announcements

• Hyon Chu: Dennis is out sick for the week; Holmes matched money request of $10,000 so now have $20,000 for the Homecoming/Tailgate event. Mark November 17th and 18th to participate; will be part of field hours. Start using FHDA and De Anza emails; official work emails!
• Maritza: Club Day on October 12, 2023
• All Officers to have FHDA emails set up. 
• Clean up after yourselves for Club Day. 

Senate Announcements

• Asiya: Club Day on October 12, 2023 - Spreadsheet sent out to sign up for shifts to set up/clean up + sign up table support. 
• Javier G: Diwali Event - Wednesday, October 25th from 2:30-5:30 - Opportunity for field hours. 
• Ian A: Mini Flea Market - Tuesday, November 14 from 10am-2pm. 
• Katelyn: New access to Instagram!
• Izat: Finance Committee - Approved $100,000 for special allocations. 
• Lydia W: Conflicts in Gaza and Earthquakes in Morocco and Afghanistan - Reach out to Mental Health and Wellness Center is personally affected. 

Student Trustee Announcements

• No reports to share. 

External Shared Governance Reports

• Jason: De Anza is moving to new system for the courses; misinterpretation on how to utilize it so there has been discussion on how to standardize it as well as how to fix the calculus courses. 
• Chris Li: Tech Committee met on 10/5 and review technology updates on campus. 
• Katelyn: E-Tech met on 10/11; disucssed goals and how to update wifi, more communication across campus and accessibility. 
• Aaron: College Planning Committee met to discuss accreditation process; more info to come and address what thatis for students. 
• Nicholas: Commitee discussed reviewing applications next quarter.
• Izat: This fall items not approved to be budgeted by the college; funding for Maritza's position; Option to resubmit the applications. New positions can't be requested at this moment. 
• Lydia: Isaac and Lydia met with President Holmes and discussed collaboration with the National Coalition Building Constitute for diversity, equity and inclusion training coming up in Fall. Looking for student reps from DASG. De Anza is communication with Apple; may include Apple innovation lab. De Anza may be partnering with NASA Ames for internship opportunities. Isaac and Lydia discussed modalities of classes/class accessibility. Ask and engage with students and ask about concerns on classes/modalities. 

Internal DASG Committee Reports

• Hannah: SRE met and discussed resource fair planning; will be collaboriting with the marketing team as well as the Diveristy, Equity and Inclusion office. 
• ICC: Club Day in Sunken Garden on October 12, 2023. ICC met to discuss plans this week.

Title: DASG Programs Code Revisions 

Description: This item is to review and discuss the proposed DASG Programs Code which is a merging of DASG Programs and Events and DASG Environmental Sustainability Codes.

• Adrian S will be part of the discussion to make changes on it where needed.
  • Suggestion to add an ES committee as a future agenda item.
  • Suggestion to add an intern position to support while waiting to make larger structure changes.
• Adrian motioned to extend discussion by 1 minute.
• Javier seconded the motion; no objections; motion passed. 
• Asiya will add this business item to the next agenda. 
• Isaac recognized Adrian’s fantastic work with the ES projects and tasks.

• Hyon Chu: SeeSaw conference replacement needed. Paid for with hotel and food. Need mascot for homecoming (handler and mascot) Isaac is interested ($25 an hour).
• Asiya will follow up to join.
• Dayna: Great opportunity and appreciates Adrian bringing the item to our attention.
• Maritza: Will be reaching out to folks who signed up on the form for Senate. Look forward to seeing everyone on Club Day!
