    Funding Request for Guided Pathways Villages Anniversary Celebration 

    Description: This item is to discuss and possibly approve up to $6,000 in funding for the Guided Pathways Villages Anniversary Celebration. Guided Pathway Villages will be celebrating the first anniversary of its opening in February. The plan is to host an event in each of the villages with food, celebratory activities, and possible entertainment.

    Funding Request for FA-PAC Internship Program (46-56405)

    This item is to discuss and possibly approve up to $4,288 in funding for the FA-PAC Internship Program to increase interns' hours on election-related activities. The program gives students training and experience needed to engage in community organizing, public policy advocacy and elections/campaigns.

    The DASG Finance committee approved the amount of $2,144 at its meeting on Monday 11/27/2023 as its recommendation.

    Approval of Minutes

    • Issac T moved to approve the minutes from November 15, 2023 after Asiya's name is changed as the senate member that did not adjourn the meeting and replace to include Lydia Wong. 
    • Javier seconded the motion; no objections. 


    Public Comments

    • Adrian S is requesting someone to draw designs for students that are not comfortable doing so. 
    • Arianna: HEFAS and VIDA event in east cottage on November 27 to hang out, play games, 3:30PM-5:00PM. 


    Advisor Announcements

    • Maritza A: Thank you to all senators and interns who volunteered and got the word out about the Homecoming Event Series. ~250+ students attended the Homecoming Dance, ~50 students attended the pregame social. Programs Committee is working to solicit feedback and notes to pass on to next year's team to go more smoothly and we would appreciate that feedback very much. People who forgot to sign in for the dance please let myself or Dennis know so we can get an accurate headcount.

    Senate Announcements

    • Isaac T assist bookboard is tryong to solicit student feedback and will have a Zoom next Wednesday and Thursday. If interested please get back to Isaac by Sunday. 
    • Asiya S for the next senate meeting there will be a bonding gift exchange including a game of senate mafia; request to change the date to week 11 Wednesday, December 6, 2023. 
    • Lydia W all committee meetings will be done next week since there will be no meetings for the last week of the quarter. 


    Student Trustee Announcements

    • Javier G Traveled to the CCLC convention; included topics such as ChatGPT and many CEOs do not know what that is; learned about the needs of various diversity groups. Thank you to everyone who supported me to attend the conference and thank you to the board. 


    External Shared Governance Reports

    • Isaac T curriculum met and discussed environmental sustainability course that needed some changes; discussed credits for prior learning to potentially help students to graduate earlier if fulfilled duties;  Course sunset policy - if course is not offered in the past 3 years--it may be removed. 
      • Lydia and Isaac met with President Lloyd in discussing how Apple would help to elevate the De Anza College Campus. Discussed medical center and how Measure G impacts that. 
      • Book Vouchers have been cut; Went through OUR which is a way to make a text book low cost or zero cost. 
    • Umme SSCCC met and discussed founding a new program about building elecions for vice chair and commincations officer. Discussed stipend and reports for October and November. Elections for positions took place. 
    • Hannah: Police chiefs met regarding the Middle East Genocide for maintaining a religious and inclusive atmosphere; hate crimes etc. Wealth Act which protects from hate violence. Discussed hate crimes and hate incidents. 
    • Jannah: College Council met on the 16th which included updates about De Anza budgeting, campus facilities and medical center; maintenance to increase transparency.


    Internal DASG Committee Reports

    • Katelyn: On campus shelter for destressing.
    • Asiya S Programs Committee met and debriefed homecoming; destress event before finals (Monday/Tuesday) fireside is being used on one of the days. 
    • Izat R finance met on Monday and approved the funding request for the Guided Pathways Village celebration. 
    • Isaac T admin met on Monday and went through resolutions and discussed elections.
