This workshop combines two flagship CAIR-SFBA education workshops – "Bystander Intervention Training" and "Challenging Islamophobia."
The bystander intervention section will ensure every participant learns how to safely and effectively intervene in hate incidents and support those targeted. This workshop teaches nonviolence principles, de-escalation techniques and ways to create safe spaces. Together, we can stand up against hate and foster stronger, more supportive communities.
The challenging Islamophobia section will teach participants how to identify and counteract Islamophobia, learn the difference between hate speech and hate crimes and how to react when confronted with either.
