Re: College Council Personnel Hiring Recommendations 2026-2027
Date: December 15, 2025

Thanks and gratitude are extended to members of our College Council and RAPP Committee, who worked collaboratively and diligently this fall 2025 quarter to bring forth the four buckets of hiring recommendations below:

Bucket 1 – Instructional Faculty Bucket 2 – Instructional Faculty Bucket 3 - Instructional Faculty Bucket 4 – Noninstructional Faculty
Business Geography General Biology Transfer Center Counselor
Political Science Computer Information Systems Communication Studies Pride/Learning Communities Counselor
2D/3D Design CETH/NAIS Film Studies College Life/Faculty Coordinator of Student Activities
ESL Art History Business Guided Pathways Coordinator
Biology- Anatomy and Physiology Math Chemistry

As announced to the RAPP Committee and later College Council, we confirmed funding for fourteen (14) total positions between the instructional and non-instructional buckets for 2026-2027.

Based on your input, I am recommending to our Chancellor that we move forward with filling the following 12 instructional and 2 non-instructional positions as soon as possible:

  • Bucket 1 – Business, Political Science, 2D/3D Design, ESL, Biology (A&P)
  • Bucket 2 – Geography, Computer Information Systems, CETH/NAIS, Art History, Math
  • Bucket 3 – Communication Studies, Chemistry
  • Bucket 4 – Transfer Center Counselor, Guided Pathways Coordinator

I am happy to note that, due to identified additional funding, I will also be recommending one (1) more non-instructional position for the College Life/Faculty Coordinator of Student Activities, bringing us to a total of fifteen (15) faculty position recommendations.

Please know that I recognize that all the positions recommended by College Council and the RAPP Committee above are a priority for our college. While we have a set amount of funding identified at this time to move forward with these initial fifteen (15) faculty positions, for those that were not selected for filling at this time, please know we will continue to monitor evolving circumstances throughout the district (such as the potential Supplementary Retirement Plan or SRP) to determine if future opportunities for additional recruitment may arise.

Once more, thank you all for your service to our students and your forward-thinking vision to support our college in making these recommendations.

Sincerely,
Omar
