    Quick Notes

    • J1 Workgroup Update
      • The workgroup has concluded. A guide and rubric was created for Regular and Substantive Interaction (RSI) and Accessibilty. These were forwarded to the Faculty Association to bring forward in negotiations. Expect this to comeback in Spring 26 for a district senate meeting.
    • Harmonize Update
      • Gaby brought forward the paid harmonize pilot to the AVPI and VPI to pay with lottery funds. They approved to move forward and Cheryl will lead a small group of faculty to test out Harmonize in more detail.
    • Pronto Gradebook
      • Pronto has announced they have an update about linking the chat tool with the gradebook. They will be invited to a future COOL meeting to present the update and for the group to give feedback.
    • Conferences Opportunities
      • The comittee was shared three upcoming conferences that relate to our work. More conferences will be shared out in the future.

    Online Teaching Certification MOU Update

    • Continued discussion from the previous meeting regarding the new MOU. There has been no announcement from FA or District, but the Online Ed team continues to update and plan their trainings.

Adding Users to Canvas Policy (TAs, Mentors,Tutors etc)

    • The Online Ed is updating the process for adding users outside of the course to the course. There have been issues regarding safety, FERPA, and privacy as previously there has been no checks with the Dean regarding users to the class. The Online Office is currently checking in with managers before adding users and will have a new formal process starting in the Spring quarter.

    AI Updates

    • The new De Anza AI Faculty fellow is hosting "download" sessions throughout the next few weeks. COOL members will try to attend meetings related to their village during that time. There are three all faculty meetings hosted at the end.
    • The AI townhall has no online/Zoom version. The request for future townhalls being held online will be passed along.
    • The committee will relay back any important updates from the meeting.

    No Good of the Order

    Meeting adjourns at 11:45
