Linguistic Anthropology
Course Description
In this course, students will engage in a cross-cultural investigation between language and culture. They will evaluate language structure - its historical origins, diversification, and change; gender and cultural variations in language usage; comparative analysis and classification of world languages; the origins and development of writing; microelectronics and the advent of the information age; globalization and language.
