Computerized Accounting Programs I (Quickbooks)
Course Description
Students in this course will gain foundational skills in computerized accounting practices, especially those that will enable them to apply accounting software to manage financial activities for small service-based businesses. They will specifically gain experience with applications, including general ledger setup, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll. Students will also explore how digital accounting tools support various business models and stakeholders while integrating an awareness of diverse perspectives that can shape financial reporting and business decision-making. The curriculum emphasizes developing technical skills through realistic scenarios and empowers students to connect accounting concepts with practical applications in an inclusive business environment. Course content will be delivered through diverse instructional methods that support varied learning styles and strengths in keeping with best practices from universal design for learning, and modifications can be made for students with disabilities, such as accessible lecture slides.
