Increase understanding by faculty members, classified professionals, students and administrators regarding how campus and district governance works, and build their capacity for engagement.

Review work of Shared Governance Taskforce and recommendations. Determine appropriate personnel and areas on campus to assist. Senates, Office of Professional Development (in collaboration) could be places where governance training takes place.


Ensure that mentoring and training received about shared governance comes from a variety of perspectives.

Determine how the process of being mentored and trained can be institutionalized. Currently, DASG does training for student senators. Work on institutionalizing this process.



Winter 2025

Create an improvement plan and develop new strategies.

Spring 2025

Review assessments and create a plan on how to incorporate changes.

Fall 2025

Winter 2026

Assess the improvement plan and develop new strategies.

Spring 2026

Fall 2026

Implement new strategies.

Winter 2027

Review and assess action plan and implementation and revise as needed.
