The Curriculum Committee is responsible for providing recommendations regarding the college's programs and courses. Its main objectives are to ensure that De Anza's curriculum meets high academic standards and adapts to the changing needs and interests of all people in our community. Additionally, the committee assists faculty in developing and reviewing curricula for various educational purposes, including transfer education, major courses, workforce education, associate degrees, certificates, general education, basic skills development, counseling classes, and non-credit courses. As a sub-committee of the Academic Senate, the Curriculum Committee has authority to make final decisions on curricular matters before they are submitted to the Board of Trustees for approval. The membership and voting rights of the Curriculum Committee is the sole prerogative of the Academic Senate. Each Division Curriculum Representative is selected by faculty of the Division to serve a two-year term; Faculty Co-Chairs are confirmed by the Academic Senate; Student Representatives are appointed by De Anza Student Government; The Division Dean Representative is appointed by administration; Other Members include Articulation Officer, Academic Senate President, Administrative Co-Chair, Content Review Liaison, Curriculum Coordinator, Curriculum Secretary and Dean of Admissions and Records by rights of positions.
