Important–Your Academic Status at De Anza
Dear Student,
We noticed that more than half of the course grades you've received at De Anza through the end of last quarter have been W (Withdrawn), I (Incomplete) or NP (No Pass). As a result, you will need to complete a progress probation process that's designed to provide you with extra support.
As part of this process, a registration hold has been placed on your student account, which means you won’t be able to register for fall classes until you complete the steps below.
- You are not alone. Many students have faced academic difficulties – sometimes due to personal, financial, health or family issues – and have succeeded in regaining their academic standing.
- We are here to support you! We believe you can improve your course completion rate and achieve your goals at De Anza College.
To assist you in this process, your next step is to meet with an academic counselor to discuss how you can improve your course completion rate and have your registration hold removed. You can find the counselor for your program or Learning Community by checking the "Our Counselors" directory at deanza.edu/our-counselors.
Until your registration hold is removed, you won’t be able to register for any classes, order transcripts or receive any certificates or degrees. In addition, students who are on progress probation for more than one quarter may lose their priority registration status or become ineligible for certain types of financial aid, such as the California College Promise Grant, or veteran’s benefits. (The Financial Aid Office and Veterans Resource Center can provide more information about eligibility.)
You can learn more about progress probation on the Probation Standards and Requirements webpage. If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to contact your counselor.
Best wishes,
De Anza College
